Prof. L S Shashidhara is Professor of Biology at IISER Pune and at Ashoka University. He specializes in Genetics, Developmental Biology and Cancer biology. Prof Shashidhara is the President of the International Union of Biological Sciences and Associate Member of European Molecular Biology Organization.

Prof Shashidhara has facilitated training of more than 10,000 school and undergraduate teachers in adopting inquiry-based teaching methods. He is steering an international project on Climate Change Education.
